APPLE PIE CREAM CHEESE DIP
Ingredients
- 1 tub cream cheese
- 0.66 - 1 cup sifted icing sugar
- 0.5 teaspoon vanilla extract
- pinch of salt
- 3 - 4 Apples (cored, pitted and cut in cubes). Choose your favourite kind, I used Granny Smith because I love the tanginess they bring)
- 0.25 cup Brown Sugar
- 1 teaspoon grounded cinnamon
- 0.5 teaspoon grounded ginger
- 2 - 4 tablespoons water
- 1 teaspoon Vanilla Extract
- 1 tablespoon Cornstrarch
Cream Cheese Base
Apple Pie Topping
Instructions
- Mix the cream cheese ingredients together and fill a serving bowl 2/3 with it.
- Add all the apple pie filling ingredients in a pan and bring to the boil. Turn down the heat and simmer for 10 - 15 minutes. The apples should be soft. Top the cream cheese mix with the hot apple pie filling (this can be served cold too).
- Serve with your favourite cookies. Gingersnaps work really well with this recipe.
