Cookie Monster Milkshake..
Made with homemade, eggless Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough, topped with blue freshly whipped cream, a chocolate chip cookie mouth + two mini marshmallow and chocolate chip eyes! How cute is that!
So remember that frozen chocolate chip cookie dough I made for my last post?
Well remember when I said to cover it with wax or parchment paper before freezing your cookie dough? Don´t! It´s a bad idea! it stuck to the frozen cookie dough and it was a mission to get it off! Next time I´ll wrap the cookie dough with cling wrap / transparent film before I use the wax paper 🙂
I saw this idea on Pinterest (where else!)
..and while we´re on the topic of Pinterest, why not follow me over there for some great dessert recipe ideas 🙂 I also have a Dessert Blogging group board if you´re a Dessert Blogger and wish to Contribute or perhaps you want to start your own dessert blog.
In the version I saw on Pinterest, they made the “topping” with buttercream frosting.. but I wanted mine to be more authentic, so I opted for the usual, whipped cream, but colored it blue to resemble The Cookie Monster´s hair 🙂
Ingredients
- 1 L vanilla ice cream
- 0.25 cup eggless cookie dough
- 4 x chocolate chip cookies
- 0.25 cup milk
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- whipped cream (colored blue for hair on top)
- chocolate chip cookie for mouth
- 2 white mini marshmallow for white eye balls
- 2 chocolate chips for pupils
Instructions
- Mix all the ingredients together in your blender.
- Whip up your cream and color blue. Fill a piping bag fitted with a open star nozzle to pipe the "cream" hair on top.
- Use the a chocolate chip cookie for the mouth.
- Make the eyes with the 2 mini marshmallows and chocolate chips.
You could use a big chocolate chip cookie
..for the mouth, if you wanted to (I didn´t have any left so I decided to use the mini ones). Hey why not! 🙂
The eyes were super easy to make, I melted a little chocolate and added the chocolate chips to the mini marshmallows with it. You could also use white fondant and use a black edible marker for the pupils.. or you could use white Mentos too.. the options are limitless!
I think this is such a fun idea for a kids birthday party. If you scroll down further, you´ll see some items that I suggest if you choose this theme. So cute!
When I just started this blog, right at the beginning, I made some Cookie Monster cupcakes. Those photos aren´t a good quality because during that time I used my digital camera and had no clue about lighting etc. Anyway I still wanted to share it with you guys.. (don´t judge! lol)
I made these Cookie Monster cupcakes with shredded coconut that I colored blue. The eyes were made with melted white chocolate which I set in the freezer (this idea works if the weather is not too warm, otherwise it could melt). The black pupils were made by rolling tiny balls of black fondant. This is another way to make the eyes for the milkshake.
So from one Cookie to another (excuse the pun..haha) I hope you you loved this idea as much as I did! Have a great week!

Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Cupcakes
Absolutely love this idea Johlene. Truly brilliant and I prefer the use of whipped cream. I’ll get some cookie doug made and stashed in the freezer so that I can make this for the kids when they’re off school in a couple of weeks time. Great fun recipe. Thanks for sharing. Sammie x
Thanks Sammie! Your kids will love this during the school holidays! 🙂
What a very nice idea to color your whip cream blue and then decorate it as a cookie monster! I’ve always kept my whip cream white and never thought of doing that.
This milk shake looks awesome and would be great for a cookie monster theme!
My first time too to color my whip cream! I´m thinking pink would be my nexy 🙂
I don’t know of a kid that wouldn’t love this for a special treat! Thanks for sharing at the #HomeMattersParty
You´re so welcome! I love making something special for kids, especially for the Summer vacation 🙂
