A super easy Valentine´s Day Gift! Valentines Popcorn made with microwave salted popcorn, melted white chocolate, mini Smarties (M&M´s will do just fine too!) and edible heart confetti.
I used mini Smarties (the mini ones are so cute!) because it´s one of my favourite childhood chocolate candies, but you could totally use M&M´s or whatever you have on hand.
I think this is such a cute gift idea! You could easily fill glass jars with chalkboard labels (with a lovey-dovey note) with this delicious Valentines Popcorn. How cute would that be? Or even an adorable Valentine´s Day gift box! Or or or, these cute pastel gift bags (in the photos) I bought last year *smile*.
I first time I saw this, they used Conversation Hearts (you know the ones with an edible message printed on them – I use to love the ones that said: You´re Mine), anyway, then I saw a video of Princess Pinky Girl where she made the same thing but with different candy, and I just knew I had to make it 🙂
So what are you planning for Valentine´s Day? Anything special?
On a side note. I decided to do a READER SURVEY about my blog, for the first time ever! Not sure what took me so long. Blame it on Procrastination. Fear (what if you guys have tons of negative things to say). Time. Do I really need to give a reason? *smile* So if you have a minute, could you fill it out for me. Pretty please! I´d really appreciate it!
Ingredients
- 1 bag microwave popcorn (salted)
- 3 x 75g chopped white chocolate
- 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
- mini Smarties in the colours pink and purple (red would work too)
- edible heart confetti
- wax paper (to line the cookie sheet/pan)
Instructions
- Make the microwave popcorn.
- Melt the white chocolate and vegetable oil in the microwave for about 2 minutes (stirring well every 30 seconds).
- Mix the melted white chocolate through the popcorn with a rubber spatula. The best is to add 1/3 of the chocolate, mix it through, then add another 1/3 mix it through, and finally the remaining 1/3.
- Mix-in the candy and edible confetti (spare some for the top).
- Put it in a sheet pan lined with wax paper.
- Leave to set (at room temperature).
- When set, break into pieces and enjoy, or fill cute jars and gift boxes with it for a cute, edible gift!

I love popcorn with candy. At the theater I always fill mine full of chocolate and sour patch kids! ? This is such a great Valentine treat. And your presentation ideas are so cute!
Me too Amanda! I fill mine with M&M’s 🙂 🙂
This is the perfect snack for Valentine’s Day, Johlene! And can we talk about Smarties for a minute? I used to love those things, but I haven’t had ’em in forever. I clearly need to go pick up a pack, and then I need to save some for this popcorn. Excellent idea!
Me too David, I love Smarties. You know the mini boxes, the ones with the mini Smarties, well I use to pop those in my mouth one shot. Haha!
