Valentine´s Day Strawberry Pie Pops Recipe. Yesssssss please!
I just love mini things. Anything that´s mini is just so much more cuter. Right? When I made these, I couldnt get over the cutenest factor!
Imagine these at a Valentine´s Day romantic dinner.. just you and the one you LOVE.. ahhhhhhhhhhh
Now to get back to reality. Chase. Remember our new puppy who has already doubled in size..? Well while I was doing the photoshoot for these strawberry pop pies, Chase decided to plonk himself on my legs, refusing to move.
I dare you to try take photos that way!
Otherwise he is just too cute (minus the times we need to clean up after he.. how do I say this on my blog without giving T.M.I…?). He has brought so much joy to our family. I´ve always said a real (my “real”) family has at least 2 kids, and at least 1 dog or cat. My family is now complete *smile*.
To get back to the POP PIES, they are really so quick to make. Well unless you make your own shortcut pastry, then that could take some time..
It´s basically placing some chopped fresh strawberries + strawberry (any berry would do) preserve on a piece of shortcut pastry, topping it with another piece of shortcut pastry, using a round cookie cutter to cut through both layers, adding a lollipop stick, sealing the edges with egg wash, using your fork to make a pretty pattern and to make double sure your edges are sealed, adding more eggwash on top, dusting with a bit of sugar and baking for 10 minutes. Easy right?
Ingredients
- shortcut pastry
- fresh strawberries
- berry preserve
- eggwash
- lollipop sticks
- whipping cream for dipping
Instructions
- Add 1 teaspoon chopped fresh strawberries and 1 teaspoon strawberry (any berry would do) preserve on a piece of shortcut pastry.
- Top it with another piece of shortcut pastry.
- Use a round cookie cutter to cut through both layers.
- Now add a lollipop stick between the two layers.
- Seal the edges with egg wash, then using your fork to make a pretty pattern and to make double sure your edges are sealed.
- Add more egg wash on top and dust with a bit of white granulated sugar
- Bake for 10 minutes.
- Serve with whipping cream.
Sooooooooo what are you guys planning to cook for Valentine´s Day, or do you prefer to go out for a romantic candlelight dinner (I love those too!)? For me it depends on my schedule, and how much time I have available. I do love to entertain though, and cooking for other people makes me a very happy girl 🙂 My hubby alwasy says we work well, I love to cook, and he loves to eat 🙂
Happy weekend guys!
