Today I bring you a healthy post to get your body bikini ready for Summer..
Strawberry Mint Flavored Water
Is a perfect summer´s drink. Made with natural water and infused with frozen strawberries and fresh mint leaves.
Have you ever wondered how to make strawberry flavored water?
Well in this post I show you how to make Strawberry Mint Flavored Water which includes fresh mint leaves. The mint adds that taste of freshness that we´ve come to love in a summer´s drink. That´s why we love mojitos so much isn´t it? (or is it just me *smile*)
Just look at these images. Isn´t this the most beautiful water you have ever seen? I wanted to mention too, that you could easily swop the natural water for distilled. I know many people (for example my hubby) would prefer that option.
Flavored water recipes are the new trend!
Didn´t you hear? *smile* Everywhere you look there are recipes on how to make flavored water at home. On Pinterest (check out my “Is it Summer yet?” board for inspiration), Facebook, etc etc. I love all the flavor options available but decided to use what I had in my fridge which are stacks of frozen berries in my freezer (I always stock up on them – I get mine from Lidl a German Supermarket chain here in Spain – in the Summer for my smoothies) and fresh mint leaves.
The key is to make sure this strawberry mint flavored water is ice cold. I would suggest you add a good heap of ice cubes to your glass before filling it with the strawberry and mint infused water.
Make your own flavored water!
Ingredients
- 1.5 L Natural (or distilled) water
- 1 - 2 cups frozen strawberries (depends on personal taste)
- 10 - 20 whole mint leaves (depends on personal taste)
Instructions
- Add your fresh mint leaves and frozen strawberries to your container (you could use a mason jar for this to make enough just for you).
- Now fill with your chosen water.
- Leave to chill in the fridge (for at least 3 hours).
- Fill your glass with ice cubes and pour the delicious, fresh liquid over it.
- Enjoy!
Here are some more ideas for flavored water:
- mint and pineapple
- lemon and blueberries
- strawberry and basil
- lemon and lime
- lemon and mint
- orange and sage
- rosemary and lemon
- lavender and lime
The possibilities are endless! Just think about your favourite infused tea flavors. That´s a great starting point to give you the inspiration to create your own flavored water recipes *smile*.
Moderation is key!
As much as I love eating desserts, I think my blog confirms that, I also love being healthy. Every time I feel myself getting out of control, I fight hard to take the control back of living a healthy and balanced lifestyle.
I´m by no means a health guru, nor do I believe (or can) in avoiding sugar all the time (if you do manage to do it, I salute you). I do however believe as Mothers we need to look after the health and wellbeing of our families (and that includes ourselves).
I´ve started doing my regular exercise routine again and I already feel much healthier. This time I´ve decided to expand my activity list and therefore have included some strength training. The stronger I am the more energy I have to do the things I love and that includes this blog!
Let´s get crafty!
If you like these cute little tags I made to label my water, let me know in the comments below! I would love to know if you guys love diy crafts as much as I do? To make them I used a:
- a scalloped punch circle
- green cardboard paper
- a hole punch
- colored markers and
- twine.
I hope you guys have a healthy and happy week!
