So over the holidays I saw a video from @RachhLovesLife on YouTube where she made these Nail Polish Mugs & I ❤ it!
I had some white mugs from Ikea and wanted to try this technique for a Valentine’s Day gift idea. It worked and I’m super happy with the result!! And guess what? It’s so easy to do and you probably already have all the materials you need to make them ?
The materials you would need for this project is…
1. White Mugs
2. Nail Polish (I used red, pinks and golds)
3. Modge Podge Dishwasher Safe
4. AND Hot Water!
To make them you need…
To fill a plastic container (one you don´t mind throwing away afterwards) two thirds with hot (tap) water. This is where you need to work quick, pour a little of each of your nail polish colours in the water and immediately dip your mug straight down into the water.
Don´t use too much nail polish, I found the less is more in this DIY Craft 🙂 Also the higher your water level, the higher your patterm will come up on the sides of your mugs. That´s it. Let them dry on a wire rack until they are completely dry, then it´s time to seal them with the modge podge which would mean you could use them in the dishwasher which always a good thing 🙂

Way, way, way back in my younger days I used mod podge for a craft. I used to think I was such a crafty person…but then I realized I should just stay in the kitchen instead. But this craft seems like one that even I can manage. I love how you can personalize these with different colors, too. Such a fun idea for V-Day! 🙂
