Limited Time Offer!
If you´re like me there is always something we´re forgetting to pack. This is why I wrote this post, to help you (and me) not to forget anything on our next vacation! There´s nothing worst than getting to the other side and to realise you forgot a bunch of things. You could probably get it on the other side too but it wastes time and normally costs much more…
1. Pack something warm
Even if you´re traveling to a warm place. Layering is key. Make sure you have a light cover up for those crisp summer evenings (or mornings) and a jacket for a more formal setting.
2. Charge your camera battery
Make sure your camera battery is fully charged and that you packed the mentioned battery charger. The same goes for your cell phone charger to make sure you have your cell phone charged for those all important moments 🙂 A very good idea is to have a portable charger handy too!
3. Don´t forget your memory card!
Speaking about the camera, don´t forget your memory card (or two). I normally pack at least 1 x 256GB memory cards when I travel. I don’t want to run out of space while on vacation!
4. Don´t forget to pack your sunnies!
Sunglasses! I can´t tell you a number of times I forgot to pack my sunglasses. Nothing worst than trying to take snapshots of the amazing surroundings but you can´t see anything because the sun is shining in your eyes. Not cool!
5. Take a good book to read
A good book to read (audio book) or a movie downloaded on your tablet. This helps so much during plane, car, train rides, etc. Oh and don’t forget your bluetooth earphones!
6. Nail clippers, nail polish remover and nail polish.
This one is for the ladies. I normally do my nails and toe nails before I go away but just in case a nail breaks I make sure I have these beauty items handy too 🙂 I also like to pack a small pair of scissors.
7. A First Aid Kit
A good travel first aid kit that contains travel meds can especially come in handy! You never know when you might need it.
8. A Laundry Bag
I can´t stand the thought of mixing my clean and dirty laundry! By keeping your dirty laundry separate by using a travel laundry bag, all you have to do when you get home is take out the bag containing the dirty laundry and put it in the laundry basket.
9. Lip Balm
A good lip balm. My lips get dry very quickly so I always make sure that I have a good quality lip balm with me.
10. A Hat
A good summer hat. Honestly there is nothing worst than getting sun burnt on vacation. You need a good sunscreen for those hot summer days on the beach or city trips. I love these Banana Boat SPF 30 Protection travel packs for traveling.
11. Directions
Capturing screenshots of the maps to the hotel or area you’re visiting is essential in case you don´t have connection. Having backups is advisable, even if you rent a car with GPS.
12. Voltage Adapter
An International Travel Adapter is essential for global travel to convert the voltage of your electronic devices such as battery chargers, power banks, and hair straighteners.
13. An Umbrella
An umbrella. Yes, this is a tricky one and can take up unnecessary space in your suitcase (and carry on) but you don´t want to be browsing your favourite places to suddenly be stuck in the middle of a rain storm. This compact travel umbrella is simply perfect for just that! Alternatively this lightweight travel rain coat is perfect for travelling and is available in multiple colours!
14. Insect Repellent
Most places have mosquitos during the hotter months. It´s a good idea to have some insect repellent handy like these travel insect repellent bracelets.
15. Beach Towels
A quality lightweight beach towel is essential in case the hotel or accommodation you’re staying at doesn’t provide one. Even if they do, I prefer having multiple beach towels. One for lounging and another for drying off.
16. Travel Documents
Your passport plus any other necessary travel documents. Let´s face it, without these you will not be able to go anywhere! I like to keep my travel documents safe in a travel document holder.
17. Keys!
Your house and car keys. When you get back from holiday, and we all know at some point you have to, you don´t want to be locked outside of your house!
18. Cash
Most places accept cards these days but just in case they don´t (or in case you just want to buy a bottle of water at a small supermarket), cash always comes in handy!

The timing on this post couldn’t have been more appropriate as we are set to leave on vacation in just a couple of hours here! (Grandma and Grandpa are here staying with the dogs and Robbie.) I totally grabbed an extra memory card and a couple of books after reading this post. Oh, and my nail polish. I almost forgot that one! 😉 Thanks so much for sharing this list, Johlene!
