8. Maison Du Guesclin (Chateau du Guesclin)
The Maison Du Guesclin (Chateau du Guesclin) dates back to 1505, from the 16th century. It was built for two canons of the neighbouring cathedral – one from Saint-Michel and the other from Saint-Sébastien – hence the carvings on the two entrance doors of this double canon’s house.
The folk tradition has long referred to it as the Maison de Guesclin, indicating that it was the residence of Bertrand Du Guesclin.
