Healthy Bars made with bananas, apple sauce and almond milk! Now this is a first for this site.. You´re probably thinking why is she posting something health related? Well let me tell you why..
Esta receta también está disponible en español!
I don´t believe desserts should all be full of fat and sugar (although those in my opinion are the best tasting ones).. When I started this journey I promised myself to learn as much as I possible could about baking and that´s why I´m posting this recipe 🙂
Through the years I have baked several things with apple sauce (like this Funfetti low fat cake recipe) which substitutes the fat in a recipe.. I have heard that bananas replace eggs in a recipe and instead of cows milk you could use (like I did in this recipe) almond milk.. This however is the first time I have used all three of them in one recipe..
Ingredients
- 2 cups Oats
- 3 mashed Bananas
- 1/3 cup Apple Sauce
- 1/4 cup Almond Milk
- 1 tsp Vanilla Extract
- Option 1 (with fat):
- 1/2 tsp Cinnamon
- 2 tablespoons Peanut Butter
- Option 2 (no fat):
- 1 tsp Cinnamon
- 1/2 cup Raisins
- Option 3 - (no fat):
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/2 cup chopped and soaked Dried Apricots
- Option 4 - (no fat):
- 1 tsp Cinnamon
- 1/2 cup chopped and soaked Dates
Instructions
- Pre-heat your oven at 350ºF / 175ºC.Mix all your ingredients and bake for 20 minutos. ENJOY!
Verdict? They´re good 🙂 A great way to get in something sweet while maintaining a healthy lifestyle. How I would use these? As snacks during the week and then when I go out on weekends I can splurge on a more fatty/sugary version 😉 Don´t judge me for saying that! LOL!
For those of you who follow me on social media, will know that I have had technical problems with my video editing software hence the delay for the CAKE BAKING TUTORIALS. I promise to have the first one up asap!
Until then.. HAPPY BAKING!!
