Chocolate Vanilla Swirl Cupcakes made with chocolate cupcakes, then frosted with vanilla and chocolate swirled frosting, And topped with cute mini bunting.
Most people, if you ask what their favourite flavour is, tey´d say vanilla or chocolate. So I thought why not combine them together by doing a two-tone swirled frosting on top of a chocolate cupcake infused with vanilla… 🙂
These cupcakes look so pretty in these vintage print liners. And to make them look even prettier, I made these super cute mini bunting to go on top.
To make them, all you need is some twine (I used natural), pretty printed paper – wrapping paper works great (I used 4 different types), some toothpicks, glue and scissors. Remember to cut your triangles double so that they overlap and both sides of the bunting looks the same.
If the frosting looks like its melting it´s because we´ve had a Calima (A heat wave from the Sahara desert.. which means dust everywhere.. awful awful). We get it a few times a year and then it lasts for a few days. The worst is during Summer because the heat is unbearable and it´s impossible to keep anything cool. I needed to keep these cupcakes in the fridge until the very last moment before taking these photographs, and still it looks like the frosting is about to melt… #foodbloggerproblems Ingredients Instructions

First let me say that a heatwave from the Sahara Desert sounds awful! I can’t even imagine but it’s about 100 here in Texas so maybe it’s not that different.
Your cupcakes look amazing! I can never get them to come out that pretty.
Thank you for joining Thoughts of Home on Thursday. We are thrilled to have you. Pinning 🙂
I’m loving the two tone frosting! 🙂 Genius idea! And such cute liners and bunting!
These are so cute, I’m dying over the vintage wrappers! And I feel your pain, we’ve had a huge heat wave here too and my desserts have been melting right in front of the camera. Summer is brutal for food bloggers!
Yes that is so true! Suddenly the whole process changes, just when you thought that you got your baking-rhythm you need to change it again 😉 Flexibility is key! lol! xoxo
Love the square cupcake wrappers! I’ve never seen that before.
I agree, they are so cute!! They sell them in all colours and prints here in Spain.. 🙂 xoxo
The frosting on these cupcakes looks just wonderful! And the cupcakes themselves look so moist.
