Notes
Thanks to Alter Gusto for the inspiration!
Black Forest gâteau (British English) and Black Forest cake (American English) are the English names for the German dessert Schwarzwälder Kirschtorte, literally “Black Forest cherry-torte”, where it originated. Typically, Black Forest gateau consists of several layers of chocolate sponge cake sandwiched with whipped cream and cherries.
My version today is non alcoholic, but feel free to add some Kirsch Cherry (by the way have you seen my cherry almond fudge recipe?) Liqueur! It can only make it taste better 🙂
This is the 3rd and last post / video in the #collabmas series I did with Lauren Caris Cooks. Check out Lauren´s black forest style chocolate ganache truffles post, as well as the video for that post, here.
