Honey Rum Cake
Freezzzzzing!
Above is a photo of me and my kids taken this past Monday when we went to enjoy the snow in the mountains 🙂
To wave off the cold (can I even say that.. wave off..lol) I decided to make these HONEY RUM CUPCAKES: brown sugar & olive oil cake, soaked with honey rum and topped with a honey rum cream cheese frosting.. an irresistible combination! Trust me!
Going local!
I used a local brand of Honey Rum very popular here called “Ron Miel Artemi”. This rum is very tasty and perfect to enjoy a glass on those cold winter days. In cake it taste even better!
Buzy bee!
To decorate the cupcakes, I drizzled them with some honey and topped them off with these cute little bees I made with yellow jelly beans, a black edible marker and white fondant.
I cut the fondant into small circles with a circle fondant cutter and stuck them on top with edible glue. So easy and incredible cute!
Hubby scores them 10/10!
Hubby loved these cupcakes, said this is the best way he has ever tasted honey rum because normally isn´t very keen on it..
Check out the recipe here below.
Lifes ups and downs
Today has been one of my worst days since the new year started, I got brilliant news a few days ago and did alot of preparation for it just to be told today that it wont happen.. The way I was told was really “politically incorrect” and made me feel violated.. I know things will look better tomorrow though.. life sometimes throws us with these curbe balls and the best is to pick yourself up and carry on and to learn from it!
Have a great week everyone!!
