Minnie Mouse Dessert Table
Silent as a mouse
I know I´ve been very quiet but I´ve been really busy with work.. I would like to share this post with you all of a dessert (candy) table I did this past weekend with a Minnie Mouse theme for a little girl named Jahnissi for her 1st birthday 🙂
Working girl
For those of you that have done a dessert (candy) table, you will know there is a lot of work and steps involved until the day of the actual set-up.. and it´s nerve wracking because until everything is in place, your job is not done! I might have aged 10 years in just one week!
Fondant Cake
In the photo above you can´t see the double layered cake I made for the event but don´t you just love the back view of the harbour here in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria 😉 On the photo below you can see the cake 🙂 The flavour of the cake was brownie chocolate cake filled with “dulce de leche” frosting.. In this photo you can also see the “upside down” cake pops made with toppers to match the theme, decorated with cute little pink fondant bows..
Tons of sweet goodies
The next photos are all individual items I made for the party.. the 1st being the Cookie Pops made with orange flavored cookies and baked with their sticks in the oven, dipped into melted chocolate, decorated with edible Minnie Mouse “chocotransfers” and sprinkled with confetti.. and finally to finish them off perfectly I tied a cute red bow with white polka dots around each one..
Red Velvety goodness
These Minnie Mouse cupcakes were made of red velvet cake and were frosted with cream cheese frosting (which I coloured pink). To get the result I wanted, I used mini Oreos for the ears, made cute little red fondant bows and used white sugar pearls. I think they came out really cute!!
Minnie Mouse all the way!
The brief I got from my client was that she wanted a Minnie Mouse theme in red with white dots with splashes of pink and I think we achieved that.. with every dessert table you do, you learn new tricks to make the next time better/easier..
All the things on these photos were made by myself from scratch, i.e the baking/making of them, the hats, the popcorn boxes, the chocolate wrapping, etc.. nothing bought but handcrafted according to the theme my client wanted.. It literally took hours to create and only the person making them really knows what´s involved! But oh how I love creating things like this!! You however can easily buy the popcorn boxes, party hats, etc
Now for some more photos of the party hats I made, followed by a special one I made for the birthday girl!
Birthday girl
Here are the chocolate bars with the phrase: Happy birthday Jahnissi in English as well as Feliz cumpleaños Jahnissi in Spanish. These are also cute as favours for your little guests to take home to remember the day 🙂
Dulce de Leche cake
Another photo of a dome cake I made with chocolate cake and filled with “dulce de leche” and cream cheese frosting, covered with piped roses and finished off with a cute banner with the initial “J”..
I hope you all like this post as much as I liked sharing it.. have a FANTASTIC week!!!
