Eton Mess pudding recipe
I wanted to do something than the traditional Eton Mess so I thought why not make cute rose shaped meringues & fill them with the traditional Eton Mess filling! I added some crumbled pieces of meringue to the filling too. It tasted like the real deal but looked so much different!
I also makde a traditional version. Both are equally delicious!
Some HISTORY on this fascinating dessert.. Eton Mess is a traditional English dessert consisting of a mixture of strawberries, pieces of meringue, and cream, which is traditionally served at Eton College‘s annual cricket game against the pupils of Harrow School. The dish has been known by this name since the 19th century (source Wikipedia).
Since it is Cherry Season I decided to make my Eton Mess with fresh black cherries.. Most of the recipes I could find on the web were made with strawberries but you guys know me, I don´t like traditional *smile*.
Do yourselves a favour and make this dessert, it is super easy to make, does not require many steps and the result is delicious. It got the seal of approval from all my family members *smile*.
In this last photo you can see the pieces of cherries I used. Anyway that wraps up this post! I hope I have inspired you guys to give this recipe a try!
