I´m having so much fun with the ton of Valentine´s Day Projects I´m doing! This one was my first and the end result was so much better than I could hope for. I´m keeping it forever and ever, And can´t wait to decorate my room with it on Valentine´s Day! Click here to see how it looks in my bedroom (on my Instagram feed. Ok so let´s get straight into what you would need for this…
DIY Valentines Project
To make it is quite straightforward. Make sure you have removed all the stems of your artificial flowers and that your wreath is clean and ready. Oh and don´t forget to heat-up your hot glue gun before the time (I can´t count the amount of times I have not done this and needed to wait for my gun to heat-up..). If you´re using the same colour and type of flowers, you can skip this step, but if you are not (like me) it´s important to work with one type and colour flower at a time. This will ensure you don´t have the same type and colour flower next to each other. How I did this was to start with red roses and then stuck them at the top centre, left centre, right centre and bottom centre of the wreath, I then started with my next flower (which were pink roses) and stuck them to the right of the red roses. So on and so on.. until your wreath is full.. (hope I´m making complete sense!). Lastly I added some foliage (I used the leafs of the roses and also some artificial babys breath).
Lastly I used some ribbon to hang it up with. For that I cut a 15 cm (6 in) strip (of ribbon) and folded it double. Then I used my hot glue gun to secure the two sides together. Then with more hot glue, I stuck it at the back of the wreath at the point where it forms a V. Make sure you let it dry for several hours before hanging it up. Overnight is better.
