Baileys White Hot Chocolate Recipe for St. Patrick´s Day, made in just 5 minutes! Yes just 5!
I have a love affair with Baileys, always have (well since I turned 18 anyway) and always will. The first time I had it was on the rocks (with tons of ice), and if memory serves me correct, the second time I had it in a Dom Pedro. Dom Pedro is a South African mixed drink made by mixing ice cream with whisky (or liqueur, like Baileys).
Side note: I always thought Dom Pedro came from somewhere else in the world. Wow us South Africans are smarter than I give us credit for 🙂 🙂 You guys gotta try it cause it´s delishhhhhh!
So to get back to the present day, since I have been loving my Hot Chocolate experiments lately (remember the Toblerone Hot Chocolate where I popped a whole Toblerone chocolate bar into a glass of hot steamy milk, And (wham-bam-thank-you-mam) out popped a delicious hot chocolate!? Or the time when I shared my Oreo Hot Chocolate recipe made with real (yes real!) Oreo cookies. YUM!) it wasn´t difficult to come up with inspiration to make Hot Chocolate from Baileys…
…All it needed was one thing more… my favourite chocolate of all time. WHITE!
Take some time to imagine this combo… Baileys Irish Cream (with me yet?), whipping cream and melted white chocolate (and a dash of cinnamon, ofcourse!). Sounds amazing right???
Ingredients
- 2/3 cups Milk
- 75g White Chocolate (melted)
- 1/3 cup Baileys Irish Cream (I used the original version)
- 1/4 tsp Vanilla Extract
- Dash of Cinnamon
- Whipping Cream (see recipe below)
Instructions
- Heat the milk in the microwave for 2 minutes
- Add the melted hot chocolate, Baileys, vanilla extract, cinnamon and stir well.
- Add whipping cream and a dash of cinnamon and you´re good to go! 🙂
I have a delicious recipe planned for next time, that also contains Baileys. This time Ireland meets Switzerland. And that´s the only clue you´re getting! 😉
So what have you guys been up to recently..?

You know it is funny, since I have turned 21 I have not ventured out and into Baileys. I really need to because this hot chocolate sounds delish!
Johlene Orton says
The best part of Baileys is that it tastes so good. Like dessert. We even have it in coffee in South Africa instead of milk (on special occasions ofcourse!). 🙂
Cheyanne @ No Spoon Necessary says
Oh my goodness, now THIS is my type of hot chocolate!!! Seriously, this is perfection, Johlene – white chocolate plus baileys?! Heaven. I totally need to try Dom Pedro, right after I try this hot chocolate of course! Cheers, friend! <3

Dom Pedro is the best! My favourite version is with mint liqueur. It´s the bomb.com (LOL)

They are so easy to make so you can have one right now 🙂 But it´s probably best to wait until tonight! Ha!
David @ Spiced says
Oh, this sounds perfect, Johlene! I love Bailey’s, and I’m pretty sure this would be the perfect weekend dessert…especially by a fireplace. On a side note, I’ve never heard of a Dom Pedro…but I love me some whiskey and ice cream. So I need to try that one soon. Also, I think I saw a brown sugar Bailey’s at the store the other day. I’ve tried a similar liquor from another brand and it was excellent. I bet it would be great in this hot chocolate, too! 🙂
Johlene Orton says
Yes I need that fireplace too! Stop bragging about it, will you! LOL
You need to make yourself a Dom Pedro soon, very soon. They´re sooooo good. You can replace the whiskey with any liqueur. That reminds me, my favourite version was the one with mint liqueur. It´s heaven. Mint liqueur and ice cream. Hey that´s a good idea for St. Patrick´s day!!
