Autumn Picnic in the Mountains & What to put on a cheese platter
Big changes are happening in our lives at the moment so we decided to “aprovechar’ which means “take the opportunity”(in Spanish) to go to the mountains for a picnic to see all the beautiful colours of the autumnal leaves and soak-up the fresh country air. Aaaaah!
AND because we are not sure when we will be able to do it again, we wanted to make the best of the day, so we decided on a cheese platter as it is easy to prepare & to set up once you are there.
This is how we created our cheese platter which literally took minutes!
A board to display your cheese platter on
A selection of cheeses (my favourite is goats & mozarella)
Olives
Sundried tomatoes
Jamón serano (cured Spanish ham) & salami
Crackers (We love Tuc)
Breadsticks
Rosemary twigs to decorate (and for the smell!)
Dried apricots
Red grapes (seedless are much better!)
Almonds (or any other nuts or dried fruit that you like…)
You will also need something to drink like a fruit drink and some wine (both red or white will work well). Then, make sure you pack a plaid tablecloth to lay you goodies on. I didn´t have one so I headed to my local Primark and picked-up a role of plaid gift wrap. Then, add some cute lanterns, cutlery and you’re good to go 🙂
Take some fun games like memory cards or bingo to play to add even more fun to your day. Nothing better than spending quality time with your family!
To find out what’s happening in our lives and what the big changes are, follow me on Instagram because I’ll be updating you guys over there…
Hope you are all having a great week!
